The Intermatic SMART GUARD® Whole House Surge Protective Device offers comprehensive protection for your most valuable home investments—from appliances and computers to HVAC systems and entertainment equipment. Designed for both Type 1 and Type 2 applications, it safeguards your home whether installed before the service entrance or after, including outdoor installations and utility meter cabinets.
 
At the heart of SMART GUARD® is the IMODULE® system with intuitive LED status indicators. A blue light confirms the unit is powered, while a green light shows active surge protection—making system monitoring quick and effortless.
 
This device incorporates advanced TPMOV® (Thermally Protected Metal Oxide Varistor) technology, eliminating hazardous failure modes often seen with standard MOV surge protectors. It meets ANSI/UL 1449 5th Edition standards for proven safety and performance.
 
With six modes of protection, the SMART GUARD® defends against damaging surges across all major wiring configurations. It delivers a 10kA nominal discharge current and a 10kA short circuit current rating, with a maximum continuous operating voltage of 150V (L-N, N-G) and 300V (L-L, L-G).
